Several Ways to Support the Library

Donate money

Our Library receives most of its funding through private donations from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.

Make a check payable to “HAPL” and send to:

Contribute to one of the Library funds in the name of a friend, relative, or associate. This is a wonderful way to say commemorate a special occasion or honor a special individual. We will send a card to the person(s) being honored, or to the family of the deceased in case of memorial gifts.

Donations to the Library can be directed to one of the following funds:

Library Fund
Used for operating expenses.

Materials Fund
Used to purchase new fiction, nonfiction, reference books or audio/visual materials. Bookplates can be placed in the front of the books in memory or in honor of special individuals.

Endowment Fund
Established many years ago to ensure the future of the Library. Contributions are held in trust to be used only for capital improvements. The interest earned becomes available for operating expenses.




Donate supplies

These types of donations help keep the Library open and free of charge for all area residents. Our current wishlist includes:

  • Monetary donations
  • New release books (2022-2023)
  • Newer audiobooks
  • Newer DVDs and Blu-rays
  • Copy Paper
  • Postage Stamps
  • Paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper, tissues)
  • Cleaning supplies (Lysol, Clorox wipes, etc.)
  • Hand sanitizer and liquid hand soap
  • Gift cards for major retailers such as WalMart or Sam’s Club (for purchasing needed supplies)
